The Institute of Management Library was established in 1996 with an aim to facilitate learning, teaching, research, training and consultancy activities at the Institute and spread over 500 sqm which includes separate air conditioned reading room facility.
The Library acts as a key resource and learning center of the University to meet the information needs of its clientele for the growth and overall development of the University. Library caters to the information needs of about 1075 users of various courses MBA Full Time, Family Business and Entrepreneurship, BBA-MBA [Five year Integrated Programe], EDP’s, MDP’s, etc.; being offered by the institute. It also offers membership to alumni and corporate members. The library has adopted an open access system so as to facilitate readers to have easy access to the library resources.
The Library is highly sophisticated with state-of-art facilities. It provides online resources as well as digital resources. It has adopted Open Source software KOHA for Integrated Library Management and DSpace to build and update Institutional Repository. Library is Using eScan antivirus software for security of Library hard-wares and soft-wares. It also provides Remote log-in facility to access electronic resources 24X7 and ensures high network security.
Library is divided into different sections like Lending Section, Reference Section, Circulation Counter, Check Counter, OPAC – Open Public Access Catalogue and digital resource access Section, Staff Area, Light Reading Section, etc.
The Library is subscribing the online E-Journals databases like EBSCO’s Business Source Complete, Elsevier’s Science Direct: Business, Management and Accounting, OUP e-Bundle, JSTOR. Other databases subscribed by the library are Bloomberg, ISI Emerging Market, CMIE’s CapEx, Consumer Pyramids, Industry Outlook, ProwessIQ, INDIASTAT.COM and EPWRF India Times Series (EPWRFITS).
The Libraries offer basic services like library membership, circulation, reading facility, reference service, referral service, Interlibrary loan facility, photocopy service and many value-added services like, computerised information search, Current Awareness Services, Selective Dissemination of Information (on demand service), remote log-in facility and conducts user education programmes.
The Library is an Institutional Member of American Information and Resource Centre, Mumbai (AIRC) and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
Library Timings: The Library is open from 8:45 am to 10:00 pm (Monday – Saturday) and 10.00 am to 5.00 pm (Sunday)
